Thoughtfully curated spaces for creativity, learning, and community—where everyone has a seat at the table.
Magpie Collective is a women-owned creative collective rooted in community, curiosity, and care. Through pop-up shops, a traveling book cart, creative workshops, and thoughtfully hosted gatherings, we create spaces where people can slow down, make things, share ideas, and connect.
Our work blends creativity, learning, and intentional conversation, with offerings that range from public events and curated goods to collaborative workshops and facilitated experiences for groups and organizations.
Everything we do is grounded in the belief that meaningful connection is built when people are invited to gather, contribute, and belong.
Grace Norton is a proud Kentucky native, born and raised in the Bluegrass, with deep roots in her community. She works as an instructional coach for Fayette County Public Schools, where her background as a public school teacher shapes her commitment to learning, curiosity, and connection at every stage of life. Grace is also the Traveling Book Woman of Magpie Collective, bringing books into the community and creating moments of conversation, discovery, and belonging wherever the cart goes.
At Magpie Collective, Grace brings warmth, energy, and a deep belief in the power of education and community-centered spaces. When she is not working, she can often be found tending her garden, reading a good book, or leading a walking tour with Bites of the Bluegrass, blending storytelling, local history, and food in a way that reflects her love for Lexington and the people who make it feel like home.
America Edwards is a professor and family communication researcher who now calls Kentucky home. She was born in Texas and raised in Michigan, with other chapters of her life spent across Kansas, Ohio, Florida, and California. After earning her Ph.D., Kentucky has become the place where her personal and professional life has taken root.
At Magpie Collective, America brings her background in communication into spaces that center thoughtful dialogue, critical engagement, and human connection beyond traditional classroom settings. She is passionate about helping people feel more confident expressing ideas, navigating information, and sharing their voices with intention. When she is not working, she can often be fostering kittens, finding hidden gems in new-to-her places, and sipping on an iced coffee.
Hannah Bernard is a proud University of Kentucky alum, where she earned her degree in social work. She has worked as an advocate specializing in domestic violence, grounding her work in care, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting people through moments of change and rebuilding. Hannah has a passion for breathing new life into places, pieces, and people, whether that means rescuing something from the thrift bins, creating a welcoming space, or helping others feel seen and supported.
At Magpie Collective, Hannah brings a steady, thoughtful presence shaped by her background in social work and her belief in the power of intentional, human-centered spaces. When she is not working, she can often be found reading a book, exploring a new hobby, writing, or lingering over a good cup of coffee.
